The Value of In-Person User Research & Meaningful Digital Outcomes
In-person user research plays a valuable role in developing digital solutions by providing insights and understanding.
Now that we are emerging from the pandemic and coming out from behind our online meetings with Zoom, Google, and Teams, the value of face-to-face engagement is proving again that connecting at a human level matters and building relationships in person makes a difference.
In-person user research plays a valuable role in developing digital solutions by providing insights and understanding into users' needs, preferences, and behaviours. What We’re Reading: What We Owe The Future
In this book, Oxford philosopher William MacAskill takes a “million-year view” of humanity’s outlook. He makes the case for longtermism—the idea that it’s a major moral priority to help shape a more positive version of the far (and even the far, far, far) future. Present-day choices could determine whether vast numbers of human beings will prosper, suffer, or even live at all.
From this perspective, MacAskill argues that reversing climate change or preventing pandemics isn’t enough, and that we must equip future generations to rebound from collapse, to deal with machines more intelligent than themselves, and more.
