What is Your Digital ‘Why’?

Ethics as part of digital design and implementation can provide a real and meaningful outcome.

Why should we ask ‘why’? It can be about learning, getting to the cause of a problem that needs to be resolved, or trying to simply understand. The question of ‘why’ can be inspired for many reasons and from various places. For the purpose of this post, it’s fuelled by Simon Sinek and his Find Your Why. It’s designed to help those inspired by the message find what drives them and bring it to life in both their careers and organizations.

If we take a look at the digital services evolution and transformation, we see government and private sector organizations revisiting their digital strategies around the world. All too often, we see outcomes without purpose or benefit. So, let's ask the question to anyone in the digital transformation world… what is your why?

Coming Soon — The Button & Google Generative AI Hackathon for BC Government

Hackathons generally focus on developers. However, Generative AI paves a way for teams that have not traditionally been involved in Hackathons to experience AI. Non developers such as Business Analysts, Product Managers, and others can create their own perspective for their use cases just with simple prompts or a similar experience in most instances.

With Generative AI Hackathons on the rise, there is an opportunity for Google Cloud to inspire, establish Innovation partnerships, and showcase our thought leadership.

Invitations will go out soon; let us know if you are interested by emailing us at [email protected]

A change toward catering to citizen needs through online and mobile applications is happening. In this episode, J. Richard Jones interviews Jeff Smith. Jeff is COO, Global Advisory, Infrastructure, and Healthcare at KPMG. They discuss who is doing it well, and what Canada can do to really become a global leader in digital governance transformation.

Government Digital Service Podcast from The Government Digital Service (GDS) is part of the Cabinet Office and aims to make digital government simpler, clearer, and faster for everyone.—and more cost-efficient for the taxpayer.

What We’re Reading: This Time, That Place: Selected Stories

Clark Blaise has been described as the “greatest living Canadian writer most Canadians have never heard of.” Your favourite author’s favourite author further padded a half-century-long resume last fall, with This Time, That Place. It collects 24 short stories that hop through time, between languages, and back and forth over the US border. In her foreward to the book, Margaret Atwood writes that these stories define “what life was like in the restless, peripatetic, striving, anxiety-ridden, shimmer cultural soup of the late 20th and early 21st centuries.”
